In recent years, with the improvement of photovoltaic technology, double-glass solar modules have been rapidly developed. Compared with the traditional single-glass modules, the double-glass modules use photovoltaic glass instead of the backplane, which greatly improves the performance of the modules against moisture, corrosion, fire, sand and wear. It expands the application scope of solar photovoltaic modules in agriculture/fishing light complementation and general buildings.

Compared with single-glass modules, double-glass modules have greater advantages.
First of all, since the water vapor transmission rate of glass is almost zero, there is no need to consider the problem of water vapor entering the module to induce hydrolysis of the EVA film, especially suitable for photovoltaic power plants in areas with high humidity such as seaside and waterside;
Secondly, the glass has good wear resistance, weather resistance and corrosion resistance, so that the components can be used in areas with heavy sandstorms or acid rain and salt spray;
Third, the fire rating of double-glass modules has been improved, which is suitable for areas such as residential buildings and factories that need to avoid fire hazards;
Fourth, the high insulation of glass makes the components suitable for higher system voltages and saves the system cost of the power station.
At present, the encapsulation films used for double-glass modules mainly include EVA film and POE film. EVA film is an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, which has the advantages of low melting point, good fluidity, high transparency, and mature lamination process. It is currently the main packaging material for double-glass modules.
However, due to the low strength of EVA film, high water vapor transmission rate and water absorption rate, and poor weather resistance, edge sealing is required for double-glass components. However, there will still be water vapor transmission during normal use, resulting in The film is atomized, which affects the light transmittance and reduces the power generation of the module.
POE is an ethylene-octene copolymer, which is a new polyolefin thermoplastic elastomer with narrow relative molecular mass distribution, narrow comonomer distribution and controllable structure developed with metallocene as a catalyst.
At present, there are two types of POE films on the market. One is a non-crosslinking polyolefin encapsulation material that does not contain a crosslinking agent. Represented by Dow Chemical's ENLIGHT packaging material; the other is a cross-linked polyolefin packaging material containing peroxide cross-linking agent or silane cross-linking agent and tackifier. Similar to EVA film.
Compared with EVA film, the biggest advantage of POE film is low water vapor transmission rate and high volume resistivity, which ensures the safety and long-term aging resistance of the module in high temperature and high humidity environment, so that the module can be used for a long time. . Specifically, the superior performance of POE film relative to EVA film is as follows:
1. POE film is a copolymer of ethylene and octene. It is a saturated aliphatic chain structure with fewer tertiary carbon atoms in the molecular chain, showing good weather resistance, UV aging resistance, and excellent heat resistance and low temperature resistance. , so POE film has better aging resistance than EVA film.
2. By carrying out modification methods such as photografting polar monomers, plasma surface treatment or reactive grafting modification to POE, the adhesion between POE film and glass, backplane and other materials can be improved, and it has an excellent interface. Bonding properties.
3. It is suitable for high-efficiency double-sided cells, which can effectively enhance the conversion efficiency of cells. Compared with ordinary single-sided power generation modules, it can improve the power generation rate and reduce the cost of electricity. At the same time, the modules can be placed vertically, and there are more utilization methods.
4. POE film has lower water vapor transmission rate, greater cohesion, and is more suitable for double-glass modules, so that the produced double-glass modules do not need edge sealing, and at the same time have a longer service life.
However, in addition to the above advantages, the current POE film also has some disadvantages, such as low fluidity, difficult to process, difficult to control uniformity, etc., which affects the large-scale use of POE film in module production.
